BIOGRAPHY AND DISCOGRAPHY
One of Australia’s most influential DJs and producers, Peewee Ferris, has been instrumental in the Australian and international dance movement for well over fifteen years. Peewee is Sublime@Home’s only original and longest running resident DJ.
Peewee Ferris has recently been crowned the official ambassador for the A League Sydney Football Club (FC) team for 2009 and 2010, as part of the Sydney FC’s bid to expand into new, emerging and diverse markets. He also has a music software sponsorship with Ableton Live 8.
In 2010 Peewee Ferris is releasing his 18th DJ mixed CD called Central Energy which features his new song “Reach Up and Rise Up” with vocalist Kyla Sexton plus other tracks from Tiesto, Deadmau5 , Armin van Buuren and Marcel Woods.
For Big Day Out 2010 Peewee opened a new stage at the called The Wormhole – a 12 hour epic set exploring the history and future of dance music. At the 2009 Big Day Out Australasian tour (with sales of 250,000 tickets) Peewee had the prime DJ set before the Prodigy in Boiler Room. He has also played Creamfields 2010 Australia Tour, Godskitchen 2010 Tour, Global Gathering, Future Music Festivals, Two Tribes, Summadayze, Mobile Home, Utopia Events, Chemical Brothers Australian Tour, Ministry of Sound, Transmission, Gatecrasher, Slinky and Cream Tours, other Big Day Outs in 2004, 2000, 1997 and 1996.
Peewee has been voted in DJ Magazine (UK) Top 100 DJ’s in the world .Also Voted one of the Top 40 DJ’s in the annual Inthemix poll (Australia’s No 1 online dance music website - www.inthemix.com.au), has been voted in Ministry Of Sound Mag Top 25 most influencing people in Australia Dance scene, and voted in Juice Magazine’s Top 25 DJ’s in the world.
This international exposure has led Peewee to work throughout Asia, Europe and even Africa. Peewee has toured China twice, alongside Seb Fontaine and Yousef and has made guest appearances at the legendary Zouk in Singapore. Further, Peewee was the first Australian DJ to play in South Africa at Freedom Festival during 2001. Peewee also graced the shores of Hannover, Germany, where he was invited to play at Lovestern Galatika Meets EXPO 2000, with an international line-up and more than 15,000 party people.
Music production has become an eminent part of Peewee Ferris’ career with his role of DJ expanding to producer, remixer and songwriter. In 2010 Peewee composed music for the Opening Ceremony of Shanghai World Expo 2010. The world’s second largest city Shanghai opened expo with the largest outdoor multi media display in history produced by David Atkins Enterprises www.daeglobal.com.
For the sixth year he has arranged soundtracks for the City of Sydney Sydney Harbour New Years Eve Fireworks Spectacular (2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2001, 2000), for the Asian Games in Doha 2006, and for the Sydney Gay Games Opening Ceremony in 2002. By far the most prestigious highlight has been composing an original soundtrack for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, reaching an audience of over 4 billion people worldwide per ceremony.

Peewee has twice been nominated for an Aria award for his album “Social Narcotic” and his Top 20 single 'I feel it' and has been awarded an Aria Gold Record for production work. Peewee has notched up over 70 different dance remixes for Australian and international artists such as Ultrasonic, Jocelyn Brown, Men at Work, Savage Garden and the list goes on and on. Peewee’s pseudonyms include Evac, Slot Jockies, and Pipi Le Oui. Peewee was the first DJ to release a DJ mixed DVD compilation featuring 74 minutes of VJ (video jockey) visuals. Many of peewee’s tracks have appeared on different compilations’ including Cream, Slinky, Reactivate, Activa , Sony/BMG ,TEC, Shock, Central Station and more…
His diverse repertoire extends from corporate television and radio advertising campaigns (such as The Trading Post, Coca Cola Amatil, Subzero, Pepsi and General Pants Co) to film soundtracks and theatre shows (Babe – Pig in the City, Sum of Us, and David Atkins Enterprises) and television (Players -NBC US, Home and Away).
